A beautiful handmade dress created by Sam using floral scuba fabric and stretch velvet from Fabric Styles.

Florals are always in style, and this stunning handmade dress perfectly showcases how bold floral prints can be transformed into elegant everyday wear.

Using our floral scuba fabric alongside coordinating stretch velvet sleeves, Sam created this eye-catching dress using Kwik Sew 4216. The combination of textures adds extra interest whilst maintaining comfort and wearability.

“Love a floral! This was supposed to be a quick make, but it didn't quite turn out that way. I had to redo several seams as the pattern came up larger than expected.

I cut a size Small, but next time I would definitely make an Extra Small. Despite that, I absolutely want to make this pattern again.

Unfortunately I didn't have enough fabric to pattern match or add sleeves, so I used velvet for contrast instead.

A useful tip for anyone using Kwik Sew patterns – they often include quite a lot of ease, so consider sizing down if you prefer a closer fit.”
